Jesse "Wayne" Bartlett, Jr.

Obituary Date: Tuesday, April 16, 2024

Mr. Jesse “Wayne” Bartlett, 84, of Oakwood, passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center Braselton Campus following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. Chase Adams will officiate. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.

Born on July 27, 1939 in Atlanta, he was the son of the late Jesse and Ruth Martin Bartlett. He was a truck owner and operator for many years. He became a diesel mechanic for Continental Grain as a supervisor. After retiring, he and Pat spent several years in Yellowstone National Park. He loved the west and shared that love with his family.

He and Pat loved traveling and had many great adventures together. He loved NASCAR especially Bill and Chase Elliott.

He was a warrior later in life with his disease. He set the example for the entire family as a Christ follower, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, brother and friend. He always expressed his love for his family foremost.

He was truly loved by his family. The lessons he taught us and the memories will be treasured until we all see him again.

Preceded in death by his parents, Jess and Ruth Bartlett; his brother, Raymond Bartlett; sisters, Anita Bartlett, Peggy Hooper, and grandson, Rodney Duran.

Mr. Bartlett is survived by his wife of 66 years, Pat Bartlett of Oakwood; daughters and sons in law, Robin and John Moore of Jefferson, Debbie Hammond of Oakwood, Kim and Jeff Eicher of Hunterville, N.C.; grandchildren, BriAnn West (Brent), Emily Olvera (Daniel), grandsons, Jack Eicher, Jesse Eicher; great grandchildren, Emmett Olvera, Indie Olvera, Parker Ann West, Graham West; brothers and sisters in law, Roy and Marie Bartlett of Gainesville; Harrison and Mary Bartlett of Oakwood; brother in law and wife, Doug and Gail Forrester of Homer and a number of nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.

Special Thank You to Billy Parks a true life-long friend. Also to Dr. Bongu his pulmonary doctor and Palliative care team and Kaylin.
