New doctor joins North Georgia Eye Clinic

GAINESVILLE - Dr. Sheetal M. Shah has joined the staff of North Georgia Eye Clinic in Gainesville.<br /> <br /> Dr. Shah is a board certified corneal specialist and will be offering a breakthrough dry eye treatment, the FDA-approved Lipiflow Thermal Pulsation, as featured on "The Doctors." <br /> <br /> She comes to Gainesville after teaching at Emory in Atlanta where her specialty was cornea and dry eye disease. <br /> <br /> Dr. Shah attended Cornell University in Ithaca, New York graduating with honors in biological sciences and applied economics and management. She then received her medical degree from SUNY Downstate Medical College in Brooklyn, NY, where she was actively involved in the local community. She went on further to complete a Cornea, External Disease and Refractive Surgery Fellowship at New York Presbyterian Hospital, Weill Cornell Medical College in New York, NY. During this time, she conducted research on ocular surface disorders and dry eye syndrome.<br /> <br /> Dr. Shah also has a strong interest in international health, having spent time with Surgical Eye Expeditions in Rajasthan, India. <br />
