Nix named to Coosa North Georgia Water Council

CLEVELAND - Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle recently appointed White County Commissioner Edwin Nix to the Coosa North Georgia Water Council. <br /> <br /> The Coosa North Georgia Water Council is one of the 11 water districts in Georgia. The goal of the Coosa North Georgia Water Development and Conservation Plan is to support the region's economy, to protect public health and natural resources, and to enhance the quality of life for all citizens in the 18-county North Georgia Region. <br /> <br /> Nix has always been active in protecting water, environment, and quality of life in North Georgia. <br /> <br /> He is the District 2 Representative on the Board of Managers for the Association County Commissioners of Georgia (ACCG) and serves as a member of that entity's Natural Resource Committee. <br /> <br /> He is a member of the Chestatee Chattahoochee Resource Conservation Development, where he serves as vice president of the executive board. <br /> <br /> Nix is employed as the executive director of the White County Water Authority. <br /> <br /> A lifelong resident of White County, Nix says he is honored to have the confidence of Lt. Gov. Cagle and will do the best he can to serve the citizens of North Georgia by seeking to preserve the natural resources and quality of life that the North Georgia Region has to offer its citizens. <br /> Nix's appointment to the Coosa North Georgia Water Council is effective immediately.<br />
