2 arrested in Barrow County drug raid

WINDER - A month-long investigation by the Barrow County Sheriff's Office Crime Task Force resulted in a major seizure Friday. Sheriff's investigators executed a search warrant at 966 Hancock Bridge Road in Winder. The search netted the seizure of various controlled substances, cash and firearms. <br /> <br /> Investigators seized over one and a half pounds of methamphetamine, with an estimated street value of over $70,000, fifteen pounds of marijuana with an estimated street value of $77,000, an ounce of MDMA or ecstasy with an estimated street value of $3,000. Also recovered were small amounts of cocaine, hashish, and twelve firearms including four assault rifles, one rifle and seven semi-automatic hand guns. <br /> <br /> Two men were arrested involved in the case. John Vang age 28 and his brother Steven Vang also 28 were both taken into custody. They were charged with possession and trafficking of methamphetamine, marijuana, and ecstasy and possession of hashish, and cocaine and possession of firearms during the commission of a felony. <br /> <br /> Both men are being held at the Barrow County Detention Center awaiting bond.
