Hall Co. launches redesigned website

By Staff
GAINESVILLE - Hall County has launched its redesigned website, which, a county spokeswoman says, features a more modern, updated design and provides citizens with easier access to County information and services online.

"The new website is designed to be user-friendly for citizens," said Public Information Officer Katie Crumley. "It includes an intuitive navigational structure which categorizes County departments based on the services they offer. That means the user does not have to be familiar with the County's organizational structure in order to find what they are looking for."

Crumley said the new website includes a number of features not offered on the old website. They include a "Notify Me" section that allows citizens to sign up to receive information as it becomes available on the website, such as job and bid openings, jury lists, road closures and much more. In addition, citizens will be able to report their concerns to County Staff online. Users will also have the ability to reserve Hall County Parks & Leisure facilities online and translate the website's content into as many as 80 different languages.

"The new website will be updated frequently, and we encourage citizens to continue coming back for more information," Crumley said. "This will serve as a dynamic tool for citizen engagement, public information and for marketing Hall County to visitors and prospective businesses."

The new website also contains a responsive design, meaning users will be able to view it clearly on tablets and mobile devices.

"This is yet another example of how Hall County is embracing innovative technology as a way to provide citizens with greater access to their government both now and in the future," said Hall County Administrator Randy Knighton.

The new site was designed by Civic Plus, a website company that has designed websites for more than 1,300 local governments in North America. Hall County officials and Civic Plus representatives began the process of developing the new site in August 2014. It caps off a larger rebranding effort for the County that included a new logo design, slogan and promotional video. All of the new branding efforts are prominently featured on hallcounty.org, along with other online resources and informational content.
