Braselton police officer, Fed Ex driver injured in crash on I-85

BRASELTON - The driver of a Fed Ex rig and a Braselton police officer were injured in a collision on Interstate 85 near the Barrow-Jackson County line Friday morning.<br /> <br /> The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the crash, which occurred at Mile Marker 127 around 7:30 a.m.<br /> <br /> Initial reports from the scene indicated the driver of the Fed Ex truck was trapped in the wreckage and had to be extricated by emergency responders from the Barrow County Fire Department. There is no word on the condition of the driver.<br /> <br /> The Braselton police officer sustained non life-threatening injuries, according to a spokeswoman at the Braselton Police Department.<br /> <br /> <i>This story will be updated.</i><br /> <br />
