Auburn company gets nod for Cleveland bypass work

CLEVELAND - The Georgia Department of Transportation Friday announced the contractor for Phase 2 of the Cleveland Bypass in White County.<br /> <br /> G.P.'s Enterprises of Auburn was awarded the $23.5 million contract for the project. The latest work is slated to begin at State Route 115 and at Phase 1 of the work. It will go around the northwest portion of Cleveland and will intersect with State Route 11/U.S. 129.<br /> <br /> The work will result in a new intersection across from Hulsey Road on the north side of Cleveland, according to DOT.<br /> <br /> Construction work is expected to begin next Spring with a completion date of September 30, 2017.<br />
