Toccoa troopers crack down on seatbelt violators

CORNELIA - Many drivers and passengers are not wearing their seatbelts on a regular basis.<br /> <br /> A seatbelt check on the Georgia Highway 365 southbound ramp from Georgia Highway 105 (Business 441) near Cornelia Thursday afternoon confirmed that.<br /> <br /> In 45 minutes, troopers from the Georgia State Patrol issued 15 seatbelt citations and issued seven warnings for improper use.<br /> <br /> The check began at 1:30 and lasted until 2:15 p.m.<br /> <br /> "I spotted for Senior Trooper Jason Stephens and Trooper Brady Galloway," said Sgt. 1st Class Chad Johnson, commander of GSP Post 7 in Toccoa. "MCCD Officer Kerry Mote assisted by having violators pull to the shoulder as I called out the vehicles and violators, while Sr. Trooper Stephens and Trooper Galloway were busy issuing citations."
