Gwinnett Co Deputy arrested for DUI

DACULA - A Gwinnett County Sheriff's Deputy was arrested Thursday for driving under the influence (DUI) and two counts of DUI - child endangerment.<br /> <br /> According to a police report from the Gwinnett County Police Department, Anthony Pesaresi, of Auburn, was involved in a minor accident with another vehicle at the intersection of Braselton Highway and Hog Mountain Church Road.<br /> <br /> The police report states that an officer was making rounds at about 5:30 p.m. and spotted the two, and pulled over to assist. The officer determined the accident was not Pesaresi's fault.<br /> <br /> The officer said in the report that he "could smell a moderate odor of alcohol coming from Pesaresi." The 29-year-old admitted he had a 24 oz. beer earlier in the evening agreed to field sobriety tests and a breathalyzer. Pesaresi failed the breathalyzer. <br /> <br /> The deputy's two young children were in the car at the time of the accident. The children were properly secured in car seats. Pesaresi was arrested at the scene and family members took custody of the children.<br />
