Traffic alert for Thursday's GHS homecoming parade

GAINESVILLE - The Gainesville Police Department would like to alert the community of possible traffic delays on Thursday as a result the Gainesville High School homecoming parade. <br /> <br /> According to a release from police spokesman Corp. Kevin Holbrook, motorists can expect delays and lane closures from about 5:45 pm to around 6:45 pm on Thursday, October 2, 2014 around the downtown area. <br /> <br /> The Gainesville Square will be closed to all traffic during this time frame. <br /> <br /> The main area of concern for motorist should be the Downtown Square; it will be closed from Maple Street, Spring Street and Washington Street. <br /> <br /> Motorists are asked to use alternate routes around the route to avoid any delays or congestion. <br />
