Baldwin police investigating armed robbery

BALDWIN - Baldwin police were called to a reported armed robbery just before 7:30 p.m. Thursday.<br /> <br /> Baldwin Police Chief Chad Nichols said officers responded to Citizens Finance of Cornelia on 441 Bypass at 7:27 p.m.<br /> <br /> "The suspect had fled the scene on foot with approximately $2,000 in cash taken from the business during the robbery," Nichols said.<br /> <br /> Officers found the victim inside the business and unharmed. That victim was able to provide a description of the suspect.<br /> <br /> Nichols said the suspect is described as a white male, approximately six feet tall. He has long hair that was pulled back into a ponytail with light-colored eyes. He has a dragon tattoo on his left forearm and a smaller tattoo below that. The suspect possibly may have neck tattoos as well. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a black shirt.<br /> <br /> Officers from Cornelia Police Department, Alto Police Department and the Habersham County Sheriff's Office responded to assist Baldwin police with the case, and to search for the suspect.<br /> <br /> The Habersham County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division processed the scene and is assisting in the investigation, Nichols said.<br /> <br /> Anyone with information in the case is asked to call Baldwin Police Department at (706) 776-5256 or the Habersham County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division at (706) 839-1724.
