Report details unaccompanied minors placed in Ga.; 85 of them in Hall Co.

ATLANTA (AP) -- A new federal report shows nearly 350 unaccompanied minors apprehended at the border have been placed with families in DeKalb County, the largest number in the state.<br />

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports ( http://bit.ly/1wPvEmK ) the U.S. Health and Human Services Department recently posted a county-by-county report on its website amid a surge of unaccompanied minors apprehended at the border. The report covers the first seven months of the year and those counties that saw placements of 50 or more.<br />

Gwinnett County received the second-highest number in Georgia at 266, followed by Cobb County with 138, Hall County with 85, Cherokee County with 65 and Fulton County with 64.<br />
<br />
Nationally, Harris County in Texas received the most with about 2,800 children. Los Angeles County in California received the second-highest number at nearly 2,000.<br />
