ATLANTA - The run-off between Mike Buck and Richard Woods for the Republican nomination for Georgia school superintendent is headed for a recount.
Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp's office reports that Buck has requested a recount of all votes in the Republican Primary Runoff held last week.
Officials said the recount will be held and completed no later than noon on Thursday.
The 53-year-old former Rome High School principal fell within the one percent threshold required for him to be eligible to request a recount following the inclusion of provisional ballots in the total.
Buck trails Woods by 713 votes.
