Cleveland to host one of 8 state meetings on deer management plan

By Ken Stanford Contributing Editor
SOCIAL CIRCLE - Each year, approximately 300,000 deer hunters harvest nearly 400,000 deer over the course of the deer season in Georgia.

The state's deer management efforts are developed through biological data, public input and management objectives identified in the agency's statewide deer management plan, developed through a public participation process. To that end, the state is seeking public input by asking for comments on the Draft of Georgia's 10-year Deer Management Plan (DMP).

A series of eight public meetings is planned to gather input. One of them will be held in Cleveland. Click on the link below for more details including times, dates, and places of all the hearings.
