Woman's body pulled from north Georgia lake

By The Associated Press
WALESKA, Ga. (AP) Police are investigating how a woman died after her body was pulled from a north Georgia lake.

Cherokee County deputies were called to Lake Arrowhead shortly before 8 p.m. Monday after a boater spotted the body floating in the water. Cherokee County sheriff's Lt. Jay Baker said divers with the county's fire department removed the body about two hours later.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that investigators identified the woman as being a resident of the private Lake Arrowhead community near Waleska.

Baker said her name wasn't released late Monday pending notification of family members.

An autopsy was scheduled for Tuesday.
