The Gainesville City Council and Mayor Sam Couvillon unanimously approved of a new 11 unit condominium by Raven Residential Group.
The two-story units will be located at 521 Washington Street, SW in Gainesville that is approximately 0.925 acres of property.
The minimum condominium size will be 500 square feet of heated floor space with one and two bedroom options available at varying prices.
Some of the other features that are included in the project is one parking space for each unit as well as four guest parking spaces a mail kiosk and a small community lawn and fire pit.
"I think it's a great opportunity to add a product that we don't currently have in Gainesville," said Gainesville Mayor Sam Couvillon. "It gives the younger generation a product that gives them an ability to purchase and then build equity so I think it's a win for the community."
The property currently contains a vacant rental home that will be demolished, according to officials.
Construction is expected to begin on the project in the Summer.
