Registration

Driver's License

A Georgia driver's license should be secured within 30 days of establishing residency in the state. A vision test is required for persons having a valid out-of-state license. A $15 fee is charged and must be paid in cash or money order.

Automobile Registration

Newcomers moving from a county within Georgia need to file an address correction. Out-of-state newcomers have 30 days after establishing residency to purchase a new tag.

Pet Registration

Dogs, cats, and other domestic animals must be inoculated for rabies annually and wear proof of vaccination at all times.

School Registration

Children entering Georgia Public Schools for the first time must present proof of immunization against measles, mumps, rubella, polio, whooping cough, diptheria, and tetanus, as well as proof of eye, ear, and dental exams. Students who were previously enrolled should present their last report card and/or transcript.
